South Asia LPG Company Pvt. Ltd., (SALPG pronounced ‘essayLPG’) is a 50:50 Joint Venture (JV) between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Maharatna public sector enterprise and Total SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of TOTAL France, one of the largest Oil & Gas companies in the world. Both the promoters are Fortune 500 Companies.
SALPG was incorporated in November, 1999 to design, construct and operate a 60,000MT underground cavern storage facility for LPG at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The project development commenced in November 2003 and was successfully commissioned for commercial operations in December 2007. In 2018, the company completed 10 years of successful operations. SALPG is committed to the highest standards of safety and security in its operations and recently crossed over 3.7 million man-hours of incident free operations .
